This guide explains how to temporarily elevate your macOS account to Administrator privileges using the Industry Fintech Self Service Portal.

Administrator access is required when performing actions such as:

• Installing certain applications

• Changing system settings

• Adding or modifying user accounts

• Performing advanced troubleshooting

⚠️ Important:
Administrative privileges are temporary and will automatically expire after 15 minutes.

Step 1 — Open the Self Service Portal

Open Finder → Applications and launch:

IFT Self Service Portal

This application allows you to request temporary administrative access and install approved software.

Step 2 — Open the Catalog

Once the portal opens:

1. Click Catalog on the left sidebar.

2. You will see the list of available tools and applications.

3. Click on the All option.

Step 3 — Request Temporary Administrator Access

In the catalog list:

1. Locate Temporary Admin (15 min)

2. Click Re-elevate to Administrator

This will request temporary administrator privileges for your account.

Step 4 — Access Granted

A confirmation window will appear indicating that your access has been granted.

You will see a timer showing how much time remains before the privileges expire.

Your administrator privileges will automatically expire after 15 minutes.

Step 5 — Open System Settings

Once administrator access is granted, you can confirm it by openning you user information:

System Settings

Then navigate to:

Users & Groups

Step 6 — Make Administrative Changes

Once unlocked, you can perform administrative actions such as:

• Updating apps

• Changing account permissions

• Managing login settings

• Updating system configurations

⚠️ Remember that your privileges are temporary.

Important Notes

• Administrator access automatically expires after 15 minutes.

• If you need more time, simply request Temporary Admin again in Self Service.

• Do not install unapproved software or modify security settings unless instructed by IT.

Troubleshooting

Temporary Admin option not available

If you do not see the Temporary Admin option in the catalog:

• Ensure your Mac is connected to the internet

• Restart the Self Service Portal

• Contact IT Support

Admin access expired

If the timer expires before you complete your task:

1. Open Self Service Portal

2. Go to Catalog

3. Click Temporary Admin again
